The 20 rodeo performances of RodeoHouston concluded Sunday afternoon, and although I didn’t get to watch the happenings inside Reliant Stadium, I’m still impressed.
Today’s winners in barrel racing, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding and bull riding all pocketed an additional $25,000. Only one of the 2012 RodeoHouston Super Series champs won Sunday, too: Barrel racer Lindsay Sears. In all, she won $84,900 inside Reliant Stadium.
Yeah, I’d take that … as an annual salary.
Three-time world champion Will Lowe, who won $12,200 during the Super Series, added to his total with the bareback riding victory. The other winners were reigning world champion saddle bronc rider Taos Muncy and the 2011 RodeoHouston bull riding champion, Bobby Welsh.
