The last time I was in Roundup Arena was seven years ago. There are many things that are the same, but much has changed for the better. It’s quite impressive to see the work this community has put into Dodge City Roundup Rodeo, which was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame just a few weeks ago. Justin McDaniel, left, the 2008 world champion bareback rider from Porum, Okla., visits with saddle bronc rider Bobby Griswold after McDaniel’s ride on Thursday night in Dodge City. Between them, there are eight qualifications to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Each cowboy has been to Vegas four times, and McDaniel owns a gold buckle and two NFR average championships.
